The work of the World Agroforestry Centre's  Training Unit includes:

  • Developing strategies that address identified and prioritized learning needs and opportunities.
  • Supporting the work of the Centre through activities that include resource mobilization for learning, learning needs and opportunities assessment, curriculum design, open education learning resources development, individual learning opportunities, short group learning events and impact assessment studies related to capacity development.
  • Conducting ‘learning research' leading to the development, adaptation and adoption of innovative learning approaches, methods and tools for adult learning. This enables us to conduct high quality training and education activities that adhere to international standards.
  • Using information and communication technology (ICT) as a means of learning (i.e. e-learning).
  • Monitoring and evaluating the Centre's learning events and assessing their contribution to the use and impact of our research.
