Formal education
The World Agroforestry Centre supports formal education at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. We coordinate independent international education networks and provide support to universities and colleges, including curriculum review, learning resources development and teacher exchange programmes.
African Network for Agriculture, Agroforestry and Natural Resources Education (ANAFE)
This network of 117 educational institutions across Africa aims to strengthen the teaching of multi-disciplinary approaches to land management. The ANAFE Coordination Unit is hosted at the World Agroforestry Centre headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, providing strong linkages with the research and development activities of the Centre and its partners across several regions in Africa.

Southeast Asian Network for Agroforestry Education (SEANAFE)
This network of 85 member institutions in five country networks - Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam – has been operating since 1999. SEANAFE works to improve agroforestry education, training, research and extension, and contribute to socioeconomic development, empowerment of farming communities and sustainable natural resource and environmental management in the Southeast Asian region. The SEANAFE Coordination Unit is hosted at the World Agroforestry Centre offices in Bogor, Indonesia.
