SEANAFE
Southeast
Asian Network for Agroforestry Education (SEANAFE) provides
resources for students, teachers and leaders in universities and
colleges of agroforestry and integrated natural resource management.
The aim is contribute to educational change and stainable land management
and livelihood through improved agroforestry practices.
SEANAFE is a network of universities and technical
colleges in Indonesia, Lao PDR, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
SEANAFE was founded in April 1999. In 2002, SEANAFE established
five national networks in a decentralized structure. Visit the SEANAFE

The SEANAFE General Meeting decides on the long-term
objectives and strategy of the network. The SEANAFE Board guides
the implementation of the strategy.
The Southeast Asia regional office of the World
Agroforestry Centre in Bogor, Indonesia provides technical assistance
and financial support through a grant from the Swedish International
Development Cooperation Agency.
A SEANAFE Secretariat at the Institute of Agroforestry,
UPLB, Philippines provides services for the Board and the network
members.
Mission
To help improve agroforestry education, training, research and extension,
and contribute to socioeconomic development, empowerment of farming
communities and sustainable natural resources and environmental
management in the region.
SEANAFE's activities
SEANAFE five main activity areas are:
- Agroforestry curriculum development
- Training of teachers
- Teaching material support
- Theses research grants
- Research and field links
These activities are carried out in a framework
of five national networks, linked together by a regional facility.
Member institutions plan and implement activities and develop partnerships
at national and regional level. Cost-sharing arrangements are encouraged.
